Aircraft Starter / Master Contactor Relay – S1578
This listing is for a Type S1578 aircraft starter/master contactor relay, commonly used in general aviation aircraft electrical systems.
Starter contactors are used to control the flow of electrical power from the aircraft battery to the starter motor and other primary electrical circuits. When activated by the cockpit switch, the internal coil engages the contactor, allowing high-current power to pass through the main terminals.
This style of relay is commonly installed in Cessna and Piper aircraft electrical systems and is used as either a starter contactor or master relay depending on installation configuration.
The unit features heavy-duty threaded power terminals for the high-current circuit and smaller terminals for the control coil, typical of aircraft electrical contactor assemblies.
The attached service tag indicates the component has been tested and marked serviceable by Stauning Aero Service.
